Inagawa’s distorted assemblages are made from interchangeable found materials and artfully reflect technology’s impact on our daily lives. They merge together before the viewer’s eyes to create semi-organic masses that replicate the ever-expanding landscape of cyberspace. His work Iridescent Shenanigans 02 presents ambiguous elements, reused and repurposed to inhabit a hyper-digital world. Inagawa considers the complications of contemporary society, particularly how it responds to and is shaped by technical advances. For this piece, which is part of a larger series, the artist uses examples of socio-cultural malfunctions and their ramifications as catalysts for a contemporary sublime.
